In cases where certain taxes are excluded when using specific currencies, Tax Exemptions are created in the directory under an appropriate name. Then these exemptions are assigned to the relevant currencies.

It makes sense to use tax exemptions only if the tax is Additive.

The left-hand area of the directory window lists tax exemptions whose properties are defined on the Properties page. The Tax Exemption Rules page contains a list of rules arranged according to their priority.
Adding a tax exemption to the directory and creating rules for applying it follows standard procedures.

On the Properties page, you enter the name of the tax exemption in both primary and alternative languages and set its status.

  • For each rule, inclusion/exclusion of taxes is determined.
    A tax exempted by the tax exemption must have a zero tax rate.
    Additionally, for each application rule, it may be possible to assign a combination of order type and order category under which this particular application rule will apply.

Excluding VAT from One of the Restaurants

To exclude VAT from a single restaurant, you need to create a separate order category and designate its usage.
Sequence of actions to exclude the tax exemption:

  • - In the 'Exemptions' directory, create a New Tax Exemption

    In the 'Order' section specify the Order Type and Order Category, and in the 'Tax Rates' section indicate that VAT is 'Excluded'.
