If you have a bonus program where you're ready to give guests an order as a gift, or for any other reasons it's necessary to place an order at zero cost, you can set up a discount instead of payment. When selecting this type of discount, the entire order will be equal to zero, and all required reports will take it into account.

To introduce such a discount on the cash register, it’s necessary to create:

• Discount instead of payment
• Currency in the form of a discount.

Creation of Discount Instead of Payment

For creating a discount instead of payment:

1. Go to menu Money > Discounts & Markups
2. Create a new type of discounts or open an existing one
3. Proceed to tab Discounts / Markups
4. Click on the field with right mouse button and select New Discount Instead of Payment

5. Enter name and change its status to Active
   

6. Save changes.

Creating Currency in the Form of a Discount

After creating the discount, it must be added to currencies so that it appears on the cash register. To do this:

1. Go to menu Money > Currencies
2. Create a New currency type or choose an existing one
3. Proceed to the Currencies tab
4. Click on the field with right mouse button and select New Currency
5. Fill out properties. Mandatory fields include:
   • Main Section
     
     • Name — enter the name
     • Status — translate to Active
   • Basic Section
     
     • Rate class — select the currency in which receipts will be closed
     • Discount on all menu items — when enabled, the discount will apply to all menu items in the order
     • Cash flow account detail — select Cash money
     • Discount (Markup) — from the drop-down list, select the created Discount Instead of Payment
     • Round rule — select 1.00 so that the discount applies to the total order amount
     • Rounding method — select Round 0.5 down
       
6. Save changes.

Work at the Cash Register

You can pay for an order using the created discount as follows:

1. Open the cash register and create an order
2. Click Pay button
3. In the displayed types of payments, select the created Payment as a Discount option or choose the currency type where you've created the Discount Instead of Payment
4. Using the numeric keypad, enter the full amount of the order and click the Payment as a Discount button
   
5. If everything is configured correctly, then the order will close automatically, and the receipt will contain the following information:
