After creating a discount or markup, it must be assigned usage rules:

If no specific rule has been selected for a discount or markup, by default it is considered allowed to be used.

Setting up Discounts and Markups Usage

To configure the usage of discounts and markups:

  1. Go to menu Money > Usage of Discounts and Markups

  2. On the left side in the row with discounts and markups select the required one
  3. Make sure the correct restaurant is chosen if you have several
  4. Select one of the necessary rules listed in the left field for a particular discount and drag it to the right-hand field. The configuration fields will appear
  5. In the Inspector field on the right there will be objects which can be appointed as conditions of the rule. Fill them out if needed
  6. Save changes.

Restrictions on Automatic Discounts

Manual Discount Restrictions

  • The Allow rule should only be set if necessary to override Automatically and Restrict rules.
  • For discounts or markups with an application area On Dish or On seat, the Automatic usage rule cannot be applied.
  • If a discount or markup with the Changeable Value option enabled has been automatically assigned according to the Automatically usage rule, its value cannot be changed. It will be calculated based on the used detail level of the discount or markup.
If this same discount or markup was added not automatically, then its value can be modified.
  • If the setting Restrict Manual is active for a discount or markup, it cannot be manually assigned at the cash register by any employees regardless of usage rules.
  • If under usage conditions the Automatic rule must trigger for two non-freely combinable discounts—that is, those without the Combine Any option activated—the discount with the lower code will be applied.
  • A discount assigned Automatically applies only within packages where automatic assignment rules are valid; thus, the value of a manually assigned discount may differ from the same discount's value when assigned automatically.
