Introduction

The article describes the translation of document layouts for creating StoreHouse 5 reports. Each StoreHouse 5 report is created according to its own layout.
The translation consists of 3 stages:

1. Opening Sh.rpt file
2. Layout Editor launching
3. Editing a report layout.

Opening Sh.rpt File

Find the SH.exe file on the desktop:

Right-click on it and select Open file location.

A folder with the StoreHouse 5 installation files will be opened. Find Sh.rpt file there. This file specifies correspondences between reports names in the program and the layout files. 

Open the Sh.rpt file. By default, the operating system does not recognize the file, so open the file and click Use the application from this PC.
Select Notepad or Notepad++ in the suggested list:

The file will open in one of the apps.

Each file line corresponds to a report in the StoreHouse 5 program. After translating each report, save it with a new name. By opening this file in the process, you will be able to track the progress of the translation and the remaining reports.

Layout Editor Launching

Report layouts are edited in the layout editor, which can be opened via StoreHouse 5. Run Sh.exe and log in with your username and password.

By default, the username is Admin and there is no password.
Open the report to edit it. In the top menu, click Reports and select the required report. Let us start with the first one — the Balance statement.

The Report settings window opens. You don't need to fill it out, leave all the fields as they are and just click Apply.

An empty report will open.

Now find the File section in the main menu and select Report builder...:

The program will display a list of available layouts. Select the layout you want to edit. Since you need to translate all the layouts, let us start with the first one. Select the layout and click Edit.
Agree to the confirmation by clicking Yes.
As a result, it will open Layout editor. The translation should be made there.

Editing Layout

Each layout consists of 2 elements:

• Plain text — headings, units of measurement, currencies, etc.
• Bands with variables and scripts. Usually in English.
  

It is necessary to translate the text elements. Variables and other elements do not need to be edited. The variables are enclosed in [Square brackets]
To edit an element, left-click it 2 times or right-click once and select Edit:

As a result, the item editing menu opens. Replace the original text with the translation:

Click OK. The text of the element will change:

Translate the remaining elements.
Save the layout by pressing Ctrl + S or the floppy disk icon. Close the layout editor by clicking the cross in the upper-right corner. If you have not saved the layout before, the program will offer to save it when closing.
After closing, the system will ask you for the new layout name. The Russian name will be shown in the Report name (Наименование отчета) field. It needs to be translated.
Replace the original name with the one in a target language and click OK

That's it, the layout has been translated.
Please note that the new name will be applied only after restarting the program. Therefore, to check the translation, close and open the program again.
Open the Report builder after restarting StoreHouse:

As you can see, the new name has been applied.
