Introduction

The result of integration of the r_keeper 7 cash register system and the ITV POS Intellect POS operations control system is video titling. Video content management, processing and storage is only performed at the ITV POS Intellect side.

Licensing

License is required for the interface operation. The license request is generated via the license server, see the licensing process below.

The license name is R-Keeper 7 Interface for Videoinspection system.

Manager Station Settings

Manager station settings are required for a possibility to view archive videos related to cash register operations in reports.

To enable access to video surveillance functionality in the manager station, enable the Use video surveillance parameter. To do so, go to Options > Parameters > Options usage > Link with additional systems and devices and check the Boolean box:

Interface Settings

  1. In manager station, add ITV POS Intellect interface from drivers list at "Devices" tab for corresponding POS server.

To connect to external ITV system, in this driver settings, specify path to folder (VideoPath) from which the ITV system module will collect files, or specify IPaddress (NCR_FORWARD IP) and port of ITV system module (NCR_FORWARD Port).

Note

VideoPath parameter has higher priority compared to NCR_FORWARD IP parameter. VideoPath parameter has some value, NCR_FORWARD IP will be ignored.

Interface parameters:

  • NCR_FORWARD IP = 100.100.100.100 — IP address of NCR_FORWARD.exe (ITV module sending data to POS Intellect)
  • NCR_FORWARD Port = 1111 — NCR_FORWARD port. NCR_FORWARD is not sent if the value is 0
  • Use Alt сharset = No — If Yes, alternative character set is used, otherwise primary
  • ActualTime = 15 — Time in seconds within which the data is deemed up to date. NCR_FORWARD transmission of older data is not performed. This parameter does not affect files recording
  • Log file name — path to log file
  1. Select logical interface ("Service-Interfaces") and associate it with driver: in logical interface property for POS server, in "DLL library files" property group, select "ITV POS Intellect interface #1".
  2. Create separate "Print destination" for ITV interface.
  3. Upon completion of all preceding actions, restaurant will have ITV POS Intellect property in "License Info" property group. Enter license key therein:
  4. In restaurant properties, in "Printer destinations" section for the parameter created in 3 "ITV Purpose", select "ITV POS Intellect" interface (use of preset print destination "For XML reports" is possible but not recommended). It is also possible to select printer in properties of specific cash register station rather than select it restaurant properties.
  5. Templates method is used to send data to ITV POS Intellect - interface processes all print info it receives.

There are two preset templates in the standard delivery package: "66 ITV POS Intellect" for bill, and "67 ITV POS Intellect" for service print.

Other operations are not supported but, if operation generates some printout, it can be supported independently - to do so, prepare special template, and configure template printing to "ITV Pos Intellect" interface.

Important!

The template shall generate data in specific format. The format is described in Work with xml_titles.txt settings file document

  1. Upon creation of own templates, edit representation of "Bill" document ("Settings-Print-Print Schematics" reference).

Important!

Do not change "Primary printer class" and "Add. printer class" parameters.

For XML printer, select "ITV purpose", and select XML template in General section.

  1. Create new service bill, fill "XML printer" = "ITV POS Intellect" interface therein, and fille "Template" field with required template, e. g., "67 ITV POS Intellect".

Important!

Do not select "Printer" and "Backup printer" parameters.

  1. Save everything, restart POS server, restart station.

Titles separation from several cash registers of one POS server

Since "ITV POS Intellect interface" is connected to POS server, titles from all cash register stations of this POS server will be sent to one port by default (see NCR_FORWARD Port parameter).

Configuration with 2 interfaces at one POS server should work in theory but has no sense - POS server only generates service tags, and same data will be sent to both interfaces.

To separate titles from different cash register stations of one POS server, ncr_forward.exe utility can be used (developed by ITV). It can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.ucs.ru/r-keeper/VideoIntellect/NCR_FORWARD.zip

As a result, the following configuration is used to separate titles:

  • add one "ITV POS Intellect interface" to POS server, and configure NCR_FORWARD IP and NCR_FORWARD Port parameters to connect to ncr_forward.exe
  • in ncr_forward.exe settings, in [FORWARD] section, specify station codes and corresponding ports at CCTV server
  • the rest of settings are configured in standard manner

Note

Note: configuration using ncr_forward.exe will work with any external CCTV system integration to which is performed via "ITV POS Intellect interface"

  • No labels
