Introduction

By default StoreHouse 5 has only one language — Russian. This is an instruction about how to install additional languages, and most of the apps screenshots of the applications are given in two languages. The principle is the same for all languages; as an example, we will configure English.

Language

You can choose the installation and app language before installing StoreHouse 5.

Select a language and click OK. The installer and app interface will switch to the selected language.

Translating Installed Software

Translating Modules

This instruction will only be necessary for translating the already installed StoreHouse 5.

StoreHouse 5 consists of several modules. It is necessary to localize each module separately. To localize the module you need to download the translation file and copy it to the folder containing the module.

The translation files are located at the FTP server.

  1. Go to the Localize folder on the FTP server: ftp://ftp.ucs.ru/StoreHouse 5/Localize/

  2. The archives named as languages contain the translation files. The shupgr.7z archive will be needed later to create a translated database.
  3. Download the archive with the required language
  4. Make backup copies of the following INI files:
    • shcrtdb.ini in the \Server folder
    • Sh.ini in the \Client folder
    • Sdbman.ini in the \Client folder
  5. Unpack the downloaded archive to the StoreHouse 5 installation folder
  6. Confirm file replacement
  7. Done! The translation files have been placed in the necessary folders. Move to the next step.

Changing App Language

To be able to change the language in the apps, the translated files should already be placed in the respective folders. Only after that you will see the necessary menu item.

Sh.exe

  1. Open the Sh.exe app and change its language. To do so, go to the section Сервис > Настройки языки приложения (Service > Application language settings) and select the required language:

  2. Click OK
  3. Restart the app to apply the changes.

Sdbman.exe

  1. Open the Sdbman.exe app and go to Сервис > Настройки языка приложения (Service > App Language Setup) and select the required language:

  2. Click OK

  3. Restart the app to apply the changes.

QushMan.exe

Open the QushMan app and go to Настройки > Язык (Settings > Language) and select the required language:

Database Translation

Russian is the default language used in StoreHouse 5.
Once installed, StoreHouse 5 creates a database in the language selected in the installer. If there is a need to localize StoreHouse, you should set up a new database using another language.

The newly created database will be empty, and you will need to fill it in once again.

To create the database:

  1. Download the utility for upgrading StoreHouse 4 > 5 from the FTP server: ftp://ftp.ucs.ru/StoreHouse%205/Localize/shupgr.7z.
  2. Unpack the archive to the SH5\Client folder
  3. Launch the ShUpg.exe app
  4. Fill in the following fields:
    1. Server — the StoreHouse 5 server connection line should be filled in according to the example below. In this case, it is 0.0.1 /pT /a7772
          IP
        /pT /a
          PORT
    2. Db file  — the path to the new database file. The file should not yet exist, it will be created by the app
    3. Db log — the path to the new log file. The file should not yet exist, it will be created by the app
    4. Crtdb lib — the path to the dll library. The library is located in the SH5\Server folder.
  5. Fill in the mandatory fields:
    1. Db size (MB )— the database size in megabytes
    2. User extra size — the maximum number of users
    3. Admin name and Admin password— the administrator's login and password
    4. Description— a description
  6. Click the Create new StoreHouse db button
  7. If all fields have been filled in correctly, the app will generate a new database:
  8. You can now use the StoreHouse database in the selected language.

The installer will generate a new database with no records. As a result, you will have a new database translated into your language.

The data is not transferred to the new database automatically. You need to do it manually.

Updating Localization

New terms are added to the software with each new version. That is why it is necessary to duly update the software distribution set and translation files.

Translate the new lines in StoreHouse 5 components on the weblate.ucs.ru platform.

Download the original translation file for each of the nine components if this is the first time you are setting up the localization. Or only the files that have been edited.

Replace the translation files for the updated ones in the software distribution set.

For the app to process them correctly it is enough to ensure the following:
1. Files that are related to the same translation should be called the same — not dmctl.eng.xlf, sh.eng.xlf but
eng.xlf, eng.xlf, etc.
2. The files should be located in the same directory as the running module, for example, d:\sh\dmctl.bpl corresponds to d:\sh\dmctl.xlf\eng.xlf.

Translating report layouts

A short description of how to translate report layouts is given below, and more information is available in the corresponding article.

Translating report layouts

The report files have been translated into English. Users should make translations into other languages by themselves.

  1. Make a backup copy of the report files from the StoreHouse5\Client\rpt folder
  2. Download the translation files from the FTP server
  3. Unpack the translated files in the StoreHouse5\Client\rpt

Setting Up Bilingual Reports

There are the rules for layouts using:

Option 1:
The sh.exe should be left in the  D:\Sh catalog.
In this case, ordinary reports are located in the D:\Sh\Rpt\ catalog and the report list is contained in the D:\Sh\sh.rpt file.
If the RuTl.xlf has been installed, the reports are available in the D:\Sh\Sh.rpts\RuTl\ catalog and the report list is contained in the D:\Sh\Sh.rpts\RuTl\sh.rpt file.
If the required report file is not found in the D:\Sh\Sh.rpts\RuTl\ catalog, it should be searched for in the D:\Sh\Sh.rpts\ catalog.

Option 2:
If you need the translated reports to be located in Rpt, the report catalog should be explicitly indicated in sh.ini:

Sh.ini
[dmctl]
RPTP = d:\sh\Rpt

In this case, ordinary reports are located in the D:\Sh\Rpt\ catalog, while the D:\Sh\Rpt\sh.rpt file contains the report list. The translated reports are in located the D:\Sh\Rpt\RuTl\ catalog, while the report list is contained in the D:\Sh\Rpt\RuTl\sh.rpt file. If the required file is not found in the D:\Sh\Rpt\RuTl\ catalog, it should be searched for in the D:\Sh\Rpt\ main catalog.

Translating the Configuration File

The information on reports is stored in the Sh.rpt text file.

  1. Make a backup copy of the file before translating it.
  2. Download the translated file from the FTP server: ftp://ftp.ucs.ru/StoreHouse 5/Localize/en.7z
  3. Replace the existing file with the translated one.
