A complete set of prices for all menu items (the minimum price limit for a menu item is set separately), combos, modifiers, consummation and bonuses, created for use in certain situations (for example, evening prices, weekend prices, banquet prices, summer prices, etc.) is called a Price Type.
A price type that can be used as a price list calculates prices in the base currency.
Items with a price value of "Not Set" are not available for sale at the cash register.
In order to provide the ability to sell some dishes only as part of combo dishes (i.e. only as combo elements), you can leave the price values for such dishes as “Not set”, and define the price values of the combo element associated with the dish.
To change the price value to "Not set", select a specific value and press the Delete key – for price types without calculation rules. For price types with calculation rules you should add a price type with an unset value to the formula, and the value of such a calculation rule will become "Not set".
There are two modes of price determination (flag Use Calculation Rules):
- Mode Without Using Calculation Rules – prices are assigned and edited by the user directly in the Menu directory (for menu items, consummation and bonuses, minimum prices for a menu item), in the Modifiers directory, in the Combo Groups directory (for combo elements), in the Prices property group.
- Mode Using Calculation Rules – prices are automatically calculated according to the rules specified in the Price Types directory on the corresponding page.
Calculation Rule – automatic calculation of the price of a menu item, the minimum price of a menu item, a combo element, a modifier, consummation or a bonus.
In the calculation rule properties, set up the definition of the value: Formula (script) or direct input of the price value in the Value property of the calculation rule.
Specific calculation rules can be established for different scopes of application.
- categories of menu items (minimum prices for dishes, consummation, bonuses);
- groups of modifiers, combo elements or modifiers.
When creating a price type on the directory pages: Menu Items, Menu Items - Low Limits, Combo Items, Modifiers, Consumation and Bonuses, a calculation rule is automatically created for using Default, which will be used to calculate the price values of those objects that are not included in the scope of calculation rules using non-default. When creating this calculation rule, its formula is empty and the value is zero.
A default calculation rule must be defined if the price type does not have the Non-price flag set and the Using calculation rules mode is set in it.
It is not possible to delete a default calculation rule.
The rules for calculating prices for menu items, minimum prices for menu items, combo items and modifiers, consummation rewards and bonuses are located on the corresponding pages of the Price Types directory using Priorities. This arrangement was introduced so that the price type of an object (for example, a menu item) that belongs to several categories uses the price value determined by the priority of the calculation rule.
Price calculation formulas can include constants (defined in the corresponding reference book), values of other price types, and min, max, power functions. Price calculation rules can be deleted and edited.
It is not possible to edit the scope of calculation rules.
