After placing an order, the dishes must be sent for K.O.T. printing. You can send the whole order or just parts of it.
You can send an order in two ways:
To send the entire order, click the Back button and confirm.
All unsent dishes of the order will be sent to the cashier, and a food check will be printed for them. The cash desk manages the printing of the kitchen order ticket. After this, the order will automatically exit into the order list mode, and the order will receive the status Sent to the kitchen.
Inside the order, the sent dishes will change the background from gray to white, and in the line with the dish the time it was sent to the K.O.T. printing and the actual cooking start time will appear.
The Send button is provided for partial sending of an order without automatically exiting the order. You can send either only selected dishes or all unsent ones. This sending method is recommended if you need to send part of the order to the kitchen and start cooking it, but you still need to continue editing the order.
If the Exit order by Send button setting is enabled (starting with v 4.9.431), when you click the Send button, you automatically exit the order. This disables standard work with partial sending (to continue working with the order, you will need to enter the order again). It is recommended for faster order submission (not by the Exit button), if there is no need to remain in an open order |
Dishes with postponed serving order are sent as regular meals.
An order with deferred cooking will have a gray background and the status Deferred.
If you want to send only dishes from a specific course, go to the Courses tab and tap Send in the line with the desired serving order.
After sending, the deferred dishes will be printed on the K.O.T. printer, but they will not begin to be cooked without an additional “Start cooking” command. Until the dish is sent for cooking, the cooking start time will not be displayed in the line with the dish.
For dishes that do not have a deferred serving order selected, the time sent will coincide with the start time of cooking. For dishes with a deferred serving order, the sent time will be the time of the first K.O.T. print. Until the deferred dish is sent for cooking, the time will not be displayed in the line of this dish. As soon as the postponed dish is sent for cooking (manually or automatically), a K.O.T. reminder will be printed, and the start time of cooking will be displayed in the line with the dish. Thus the display of time in the line with the dish is a sign that the dish has started cooking. |
